Brian Lassiter, a fourth grade teacher and a Cities in the Classroom pilot participant, was voted by his peers to receive the Astoria Park Teacher of the Year Award. Congratulation to Mr. Lassiter for a job well done.
Michelle Bono interviews representatives from the Florida League of Cities and Florida Joint Center for Citizenship about "Cities in the Classroom" (CIC) an effort to familiarize local teachers with local government so they can include the subject in civics lessons.
