Request a Professional Development Workshop, Webinar, or Videoconference

With funding support provided to its parent organization, the Lou Frey Institute, FJCC can provide Florida districts with a range of custom designed professional development opportunities in civics. Because of its University base and higher education partnerships throughout the state, the Joint Center has the capacity to offer educational programming covering virtually any content area or pedagogy relevant to K-12 civics. In addition, we have worked with more than 150 Civics Mentor-Teachers across the state. Many of these teachers have affiliated with the Joint Center as Teaching Associates and are prepared to share their experience and strategies with other teachers throughout Florida. Contact us and we will be happy to work with you to meet your needs. To the limit of our human and fiscal resources, there are no charges for FJCC services to Florida school districts.

Workshops

Face-to-face workshops can be designed around available time, ranging from a few hours to multi-day sessions.

Webinars

The FJCC can offer internet-based webinars in a variety of formats and accommodating a wide range of time schedules. Participants need an internet connection with any major browser that supports a Flash player and audio.

Videoconferences

Workshops can be delivered to district training facilities via ip-based real-time, interactive videoconference. The Joint Center utilizes an AdobeConnect platform which has minimal technology requirements. A training facility must have an internet connection, a computer with audio capacity, a projector suitable to the size of the room, and a webcam. We can work with district IT staff to test connections and equipment.

Introduction to FJCC Resources

Through any delivery mode, the Joint Center will work with district curriculum supervisors to provide teachers with a hands-on introduction to curriculum and professional development resources.
